Balvenie Tun 1509 batch 7

Behold, the seventh batch of Balvenie Tun 1509!

A hugely popular series of expressions from the distillery, named after the tun in which the whisky is married for three months before bottling up. This particular edition was made using whisky drawn from 21 hand-picked casks, including ten sherry butts, seven sherry hogsheads and four American oak barrels.

Following its marrying period, it was bottled up at 52.4% ABV.

Rich aromas of oak, dried fruits, raisins, dates, ground ginger and brown sugar fill the nose. The palate offers notes of tangy candied orange peel, oaky vanilla, golden syrup, honeycomb, toasted hazelnuts, ginger and nutmeg that linger in the finish.
